NEP 2020 and Youth Empowerment

Dear Readers,

India is known for a legacy that places significant importance to its varied cultures, traditions and family values. The hallmark of India’s growth story has been in its effort toward harvesting of knowledge, cultivation of its rich and cultural heritage and enhanced investments in different forms of learning.

The signs of progress are manifest across every state, city and town. Roads have started reaching the remotest parts of our country. Railways are adding new rakes and modernizing its stations to global standards. Bridges are being built and the Private- Government partnership in building the nation is getting stronger. India is on its way to being recognized as a developed nation in near future.

India has the largest population of youth and the world views us as one of the largest consumer groups.  India is emerging as a major hub for many  businesses and perceived as a country with immense potential to do business with. The developed nations are looking at our technocrats, teachers and professionals for solutions to the critical problems – solutions that are feasible and sustainable in the long run.

The country has recognized that sustaining, maintaining and forging ahead in all the spheres of development can be achieved through efficient and effective disruption in education. India needs youth power capable of exploiting and exploring natural resources, mastering the future-looking skills, participating in all kinds of research, engineering precision, benchmarking best practices in medicines besides other capabilities.

NEP 2020 is exactly a step in that direction that will start bearing the fruits in the years to come.

India has a large talent pool in our youth and NEP 2020 aims at integrating these intellectual, aesthetic, social and emotional capacities. The flexible learning process catering to the areas of interest as well as aptitude-oriented education will enable our young generation to optimise their talents. The facilitation of online education will help our youth in the process of lifelong learning and career management.

NEP 2020 aims to curtail the dropout rates – a critical parameter measuring the performance of the education system.  The access to digital platforms for acquiring content knowledge and learning the application of techniques will help in increasing the rate of employment. NEP 2020 makes sense of global challenges with equity and inclusion in higher education.

Overall, NEP 2020 is a historical step to improve the quality of education and make brand India – a truly incredible India!
