K J Somaiya College of Engineering Unveils Cutting-Edge Programs for A.Y. 2023-2024

K J Somaiya College of Engineering, a distinguished institution under Somaiya Vidyavihar University, has announced the launch of three groundbreaking engineering programs for the Academic Year 2023-2024. Responding to the needs of the modern technological landscape, the new programs focus on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer and Communications Engineering, and Robotics.

Pioneering the Future: B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

In response to the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), the college is launching a B.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The program aims to train professionals capable of utilizing AI, ML, and data science technologies to automate various tasks in sectors such as healthcare, e-commerce, climatology, social media, and transportation.

“The launch of this program aims to produce skilled professionals who will play pivotal roles in the continued development of AI-based applications in various industries,” states Dr. Shubha Pandit, Principal of K J Somaiya College of Engineering.

Bridging Disciplines: B.Tech in Computer and Communications Engineering

Another exciting addition is the B.Tech in Computer and Communications Engineering (CCE). This program stands as a hybrid course focusing on the core areas of computer science, communication networks, network security, cloud computing, and data analytics.

“Our Computer and Communications Engineering program is strategically designed to offer an interdisciplinary education that will equip students with the skills they need for the evolving landscape of digital technology,” comments the Program Director.

Revolutionizing Industry: B.Tech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

Addressing the imminent needs of Industry-4.0, the new B.Tech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence program is launched. The program focuses on providing engineers with a nuanced understanding of AI and ML in manufacturing and robotic systems, aiming to bridge the gap between Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology.

“The introduction of a specialized course in Robotics and AI aligns with our mission to help transform Indian industries through digitization,” mentions the Dr. V N Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice-Chancellor of Somaiya Vidyavihar University.
